There'a interesting stuff in here but I think it is probably a better stop for kids than adults. Lots of interactive exhibits.

We passed this on our back from Echo Lake State Park and decided to stop by because it was free. The kids LOVED this! Their favorite part was definitely getting to be meteorologists. The hands-on exhibits are kid-friendly and informative. We thought we would just pop in and out but ended up staying for almost an hour and it is... More

Bottom Line: Excellent way to spend some time while you are visiting the area. Details: We arrived in North Conway in early April and had no idea that most of the things in the area were closed for the season. Luckily the observatory was open and we had a great time there. There are many exhibits to view and admission... More

Almost everything in the museum is interactive and set where small hands can touch and play. Our daughter is sensitive to noise, so we cannot take her into the windstorm simulation in the "shack", but there is still so many other cool things to do. We have been in it dozens of times, literally, and each time it is as... More

Free admission, a must see museum in the area! They even allow you to contact the observatory on the top of the mountain to ask about conditions. Great place for kids and weather enthusiasts alike!

If you want something fun to do while you're in N. Conway that's free, stop in! There's some fun hands on things to do in this museum/gift shop. You get get an idea of Mt. Washington's extreme weather with your street clothes on!

Took a ten year old and she was ready to go in five minutes. An excellent interactive opportunity to create wind and direct it. There is a little building inside that you can stand in and hear and feel (it shakes) the effects of a big wind on mt Washington. Clean and informative. Would be great for teens.

Liked interesting displays, and simulated conditions of 1934, when world record gusts of 235 mph were observed at the summit.

Last Fall I visited the Mount Washington Weather Discovery Center and was entertained by all of their gagets and other weather information that is provided by the center. I was shown a film that was taken up on Mount Washington. This film was very educational and told of past histories of the mountain.

There are some very interesting things to see here including a mock set up of a building at the top of Mt. Washington that simulated the effects from the wind and the wind speeds on the mountain. Good place to kill a few hours with the family while strolling around north conway.
