The gardens should be in better homes and gardens. A great place to relax and unwind while walking around. The staff is so friendly.

Herford Inlet Lighthouse is right where the sea wall is. It is a beautiful place to check out while taking a walk along the wall.

Whenever we are in Wildwood we stop at the lighthouse to see the gardens. The kids enjoy looking for butterflys and hummingbirds. There is a nice view from behind the lighthouse of the inlet.

We enjoyed the garden area out back more than the lighthouse. They charge a fee to visit the keepers quarters and I do not think it even includes access to the light tower area. The photos we got from the street would have been enough for me. We have been to most of the NJ lighthouses and this one ranks... More

The lighthouse is charming with it's Victorian architecture. However, the real "wow" factor here comes from the gardens. The lighthouse has magnificent gardens which are free to visit. Don't miss the little nature path to the beach!

We make it a point to visit the lighthouse whenever we are in the area. When you are finished with the tour, you can walk right down the "Jetty" and sit on the beach! Great way to spend an afternoon

This is the smallest lighthouse I've ever seen. No stairs to climb like Barnegat or Cape May, But it is old and historic and well worth a visit. The grounds are a mni-nature center and are beautifully tended.
