Beautiful place to camp. Lots of deer and rabbits. Clean facilities. Gorgeous beach. Sleeping with the sound of the ocean is a wonderful experience. My only negative feedback is that camp fires have to be in a metal crate at least 6 inches off the ground--generally campsites offer these as part of the site.

We went camping at Hither Hills State Park for the first time from Friday, May 31st to Sunday, June 2nd, 2013. These dates are considered to be during the low season. You have to pay for a minimum of 3 nights on the off season but we stayed only 2 nights as we had to work. I read reviews about... More

We camped at Hither Hills for several years. We usually go during off season because of the minimal nights. The beach is beautiful andpeaceful. The campgrounds are great. My only complaint are other campers who are drunk and loud after 10pm. Some campers do not realize their conversation resonate in the open. It would be nice to have a ranger... More

Walked the Walking Dunes trail with my 7 yr old; it's way cool. Not just for her but for my wife and I since we've never hiked dunes like this before. Very relaxing, scenic and different. Short trail as well, only about est. 30+ minutes. Well worth it.

We booked a tent site in the off-season so it was not as warm as it would be in July or August. It was however easier to book and you only had to book a minimum of 3 nights whereas during the high-season you need to book an entire week. There were only about 25 sites booked so there was... More

We camped out at Hither Hills and it was a great experience, We stayed for 3 days over the summer and though the weather was hot the beach was very close and we didnt have far to walk to use the restroom facilities as well. Check this restaurant out for take-out to bring to the beach. The Lobster Roll is... More

The few people you meet share this special place as though it were a secret. ,Lots of sand, no noise, unless the ocean waves annoy you.

Hither Hills is a beautiful Park that runs parallel with the ocean. They allow camping, but have limited sites with only water hookups. Dogs are allowed in sections. I have never camped here, but will definitely drive the MH out for a visit.

Didn't stay, but Picked up some friends here and although the park maintains it's natural beauty in some areas.. others were rough.. with lots of garbage. Needs more garbage cans, or more frequent pick up in the busy season.

Nice ocean views. Maybe a little too manicured, but not as much as Montauk Point. Best visited in Autumn and Winter when the crowds have departed.
