this is an area of great historic importance to the city of rochester. the buildings are part of the history. some have been redone nicely, and there are restaurants and some night life nearby, but the center at high falls is closing we have been told. what a loss. you do need to be a little careful where you walk... Visited High Falls in Rochester. The best view is from the bridge that overlooks the falls. There is a visitor center near the falls, but it was not a helpful place. Could see the falls without going to the visitor center. There are signs along the walk that gives you a history of what you are looking at.

It was VERY cold the day we went. We just wanted to take pictures and say we were there. Parking was easy to find. Would like to spend more time there in the warmer months.

It's amazing that such a place exists in the middle of a city! I love walking out on the bridge and seeing the nature, history and the Falls.

It is easy to get to and park because no one goes there because there is nothing there besides the waterfall and empty buildings. An easy stop - in and out in 1/2 hour and will give a visitor a historical perspective of the area.

Just took a quick look here - the falls were impressive, and the history behind the nearby buildings was interesting. It was winter when I visited, but I have heard it is very pretty in the summer

Great spot for wedding photos. Also a fun place to go while visiting the brewery nearby. I enjoy jogging around this area, lots of sights. Dark at night however. Need lights

The overlook on the west side of the river has some interesting views, ruins, and interpretive text panels; the east side has only a dilapidated concrete platform

Plenty of the younger crowd hang out in the trendy bars. There is outdoor concerts in summer and a variety of food and drink establishments. Downton Rochester. Nice view of the River Falls
