We went to visit this place at the end of September 2011. On requesting an English Guide or Tour Recordings, we were told (in no uncertain terms) "NYET" and that was the end of that!! near sevastapol ukraine there is a small seaside village of Balacava during the cold war years the soviets built a secret submarine base into a mountain at Balacava. this facility can be toured and is fascinating. not to be missed if in the area. More

We visited the Sevastapol as part of a tour last month, whilst on a Black Sea Cruise, and this place was the highlight of the full day tour entitled Crimea Battlefields. It is reported elsewhere that this Museum is English speaking unfriendly! Totally not true, there are English Tours, and all the exhibits have English subtitles It is an amazing attraction and a must see if you are in Crimea More
