The Kemet school Non-Profit Corp partnered with Chef Imani for a 80's mixer at “The Charlotte Museum of History”. The staffing at the venue was completely reckless with booking our event by double booking us. We therefore had to reschedule our event which was planned in December, “of which we paid a deposit” within weeks before the event date. Upon... More

The Museum had a Civil War travelling exhibit on during Jan - Feb 12, this is what drew us to visit. Unfortunately neither the exhibit nor the Museum had much to offer with the exception of the house tour and our fantastic guide, she was so enthusiastic about everything and with only me and my wife on the tour she... We went here expecting to see the history of the area (based on tripadvisor reviews). Instead it was an exhibit about Philipino history. The only bits about the local history were items in two small galleries. The house tour was about the only place we learned much about local history (the website claims to have "living history" but we never... More

About a year before our wedding we searched and searched for a place to have it. We came across the Charlotte Museum of History and felt welcomed from the very beginning. Brandy was so great to work with. Our wedding was outside by the bell and the reception was inside. She made everything so easy for us. Everyone complimented us... More

The Charlotte Museum of History focuses on the history of Charlotte, relying on aging permanent exhibits and a flux of temporary exhibits. Contained on the grounds is the Rock House, the oldest surviving home in the county--dating to 1774. If one's interest is focused narrowly on Charlotte, The Charlotte Museum of History will be appealing. More

The Charlotte Museum of History was a nice way to spend an afternoon. Adult tickets are $6. They have a tour of the Hezekiah Alexander Homesite (which is the oldest surviving homesite in Mecklenburg County...you'll learn this on the tour). Make sure you sign up for the tour; it is included in your admission ticket. The tour lasts approximately 40... More

After living in the city for four years, decided that July 4th was a good of a time as any to visit the Charlotte History Museum, especially because it was free to celebrate the holiday there. The museum is not in the best part of town, however is fine during the day as it is a bit secluded. The Museum... More

This is definitely worth a visit, but only if you can go on a tour. The tour gives a lot of information that you can't really find otherwise, and it is well done. Be warned that the "house tour" is a tour of more than just the house and it takes quite a while. But without it you miss out... More

Great museum. Great exhibits showing the history of the area, I particularly liked the exhibit on the religious groups. The rock house is great, be sure to visit the museum during one of the 2 guided tours so that you can go inside the buildings. A must see! The story is much more interesting than the actual building themselves and... More
