What brought me here was my sons 4th grade field trip. I've lived in North Carolina for over 13 years and knew that our state had a rich history but never realized exactly how much had happened here. The exhibits were outstanding and extremely informative. Our tour was rushed because of time, but my son asked me if we could... More

Strolled through this free museum and found much to offer. A good layout and displays on the history of NC. That it is free is all the better (donations gladly accepted). It is a place one could return again and again to delve deeper into one exhibit or another. More

We were plesantly surprised by the number of exhibits and the layout of this museum. We felt like we were in Washington rather than Raleigh. This was an afternoon well spent. There are several high quality museums in downtown Raleigh that are all worth the visit. Parking is great. Great for the family or couples. Will definately go again! More

A modern museum that shows the history of NC. Good exhibitions. The museum is quite small. More

We recently enjoyed a full afternoon looking and learning from the wealth of well done displays. Certainly hope every citizen of your lovely state takes full advantage of this and that others, like us, travel from outside the state to experience it as well. It was excellent! More

I stumbled onto the museum through a Google search, and walked into a phenomenal museum! I allowed a half day for my visit, and saw only a small fraction of what was there. The main exhibit room on the first floor was extremely well done. More

I went to the museum with my 7 year old daughter. During the week YEAR ROUND there are going to be school groups, camps, and track out camps (Wake County, where Raleigh is, has year round schools). So sometimes there are lots of kids invading an exhibit and the parent/teacher chaperones aren't in control. Today when we were getting maps... More

This museum has 2 levels of exhibits. It also has a Dale Earnhardt #3 car on display downstairs. There is a Richard Petty car on exhibit upstairs in the sports section. There is a lot to learn about Raleigh at this Museum. I don't think kids would be as excited about this Museum as the Museum of Natural Sciences, but... More
