My second grade daughter is finishing her first week at Dead Broke Farms and has listed it as her favorite traack out camp yet. The staff is wonderful (i.e. the "camp counselors rock!") and I could not believe how quickly my daughter learned not only how to ride a horse but also how to care for them. Each day I... More

My kindergarten daughter just finished up a week of camp here and had the most amazing time. We visited the farm before signing up for camp and Mrs. Rosie made my daughter feel so comfortable and showed her around. Carla was also awesome at answering my questions before signing up since my daughter is on the younger end for camp... More

We did the camp for 2 weeks for my daughter and she love it! She had a very good time in the farm. She enjoy every single minute there and she wanted me to drop her very early morning and pick her up late. The girls who work there were nice and kind. I recommend the camp for kids that... More

I took my girlfriend there on a private ride for our anniversary. Pros: - We were on the trail within about 20 minutes of our ride time, which included paperwork and an explanation of how to handle the horses. - They were very friendly and knowledgeable. - Our guide was very nice and provided a lot of information about the... I was truly excited to take my son horseback riding at this farm. That excitement was short lived. The only positive thing I can say is that they did have a play set for kids that was nice. I did not know this was an indication that we would b waiting for close to two hours for a 30 minute... More

The name of our farm is a pun on the cost of owning horses and horses' temperments. The financial implication of our name is fairly evident to most people, but the expression of the horses' dispositions isn't perhaps as obvious if you're not in the horse industry. You see, when a horse is started under saddle, it is often referred... More

I spent years training horses and riding real cowboy style all over the Western states. I missed the horses, so we booked a ride at DBF. We had a private ride with two and a guide. As we were both pros, we were given much nicer horses, and rider #2 had to have a special tall horse because he is... More

We just went to a birthday party at the farm last week. My girls absolutely LOVED it. The guides were nice, they loved an actual trail vs. just circling in a fenced area. The horses were calm and well behaved. (My biggest concern...) My girls are 5 & 8 years old and both had a great time. They had a... More

This place is just sick! I loved all the horses there, but the people.....ughhhhhh! I never met any one so rude, scary, and flat out mean in my life than the owner of Dead Broke Farm. I volunteered for 11 hours and was too scared to ask the owner to sign my volunteer form. When my mom went to ask... More

This is a very slanted view of what transpired. The mother was very demanding and confrontational regarding the signing of the volunteer form. She approached me from behind while I was serving cake to my staff and volunteers demanding that I sign the form immediately stating that they were in a hurry. I responded that I was busy and that... This barn might be great for experienced riders but no way for novices.Anything like a horse fly will one horse buck or run away and all the of the herd will follow ! . It is a very dangerous ride,,the front guide texted on her phone throughout the ride and was little concerned what was happening behind.Carla buys her horses... More

Went out to this farm just to see some horses and get some more information on riding. The owner was very nice. They were busy setting up a riding group at the time but she was nice enough to come over and ask what questions we had. They have all the information on their website. Many horses, rabbits, birds, dogs... More
