First lesson was with a group. We all had a great time and looking forward to doing it again. The staff was great.

I had the opportunity for a personalized intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding with Cape Fear Paddleboarding and I was not disappointed. I had been told to "just rent" and "go out", but the combination of equipment, instruction, valuable safety tips and techniques, variations on paddling standing up vs. a kayak or canoe, a guide in the Intracoastal Waterway who was... I had an informative and fun lesson with Doug. I had signed up for a public lesson and ended up being the only person there, so had a private lesson and tour of Mott's Channel and part of the Intracoastal Waterway. Doug was relaxed but attentive to safety, and he provided me with good basic SUP info. Also, the person... More

My husband and I did a private Standing Paddle Lesson at Motts Channel yesterday. It was fabulous! Our instructor, Pat, was super knowledgable and the entire experience was relaxed and fun. I would highly recommend Cape Fear Paddleboarding and we will definitely be doing this again! Pat...you rock!!!

I'm sorry to say that our experience with cape fear paddleboarding was not great. We were told to arrive at 7:45am for an 8 am appointment. we were 8:30 getting in the water with no instruction at all. We were expected to carry our own board, paddle and life jacket down the water and get on and go. When we... More

As much as we like to take credit for all the times we execute flawlessly, we equally like to own up to the times we do not. Keep in mind this was not a lesson/tour but just a rental. The employee in charge of this particular rental does not work for our company anymore. To amend this negative experience the... More

My wife Tracy and I did SUP at Motts Channel area of Wrightsville Beach. It was a 1.5 hour lesson and tour of the area on the paddleboard. The part we like the best was Alysia, her covering the fundamentals, willingness to listen and challenging us to work hard. The part we liked the least was that our lesson was... More
