We were staying in the Daintree area for a couple of nights so took the short drive north to the Cape and the end of the paved road north. Nearly missed the turning to the car park area as the entrance is hidden but as we then went onto a rougher road realised we needed to turn back. Went onto... More

The pictures depict a beautiful paradise - white sand, blue water, coral reefs; but in reality the beaches at the cape were not nearly as beautiful. Maybe we caught the beach at low tide, but the water appeared brackish and the sand greyish. The signs warning you about stingers and crocodiles rightfully put you off swimming as well. There is... An absolutely beautiful part of our country. The overcast day we visited was no good for lying by the pool, so perfect for a day trip up from Port Douglas. We hired a car for the day and visited numerous attractions, including Mossman Gorge, the Daintree Discovery Experience and the Daintree Icecream Company. Well worth the trip and works out... More

There is flora and fauna unique to this region, it is towering ancient tangle of trees and vines ...you almost half expect to see a dinosaur here ...

Waste of time and money. Have to pay $23 for the shortest ferry ride imaginable. Windy and poorly maintained roads that are dangerous. Finally arrive to find signs warning that there are crocodiles and stingers so cannot access the beach. Biggest spiders ever seen and the most horrific toilets. We ended up just getting in the car and making the... More

Amazing. One of my favourite places, I've written about this in depth elsewhere. You just need to find a friend to go on hikes with, or someone with a car to get to more remote locations.

Getting to Cape Tribulation is as rewarding as the beach itself. Crossing the Daintree River by ferry is a fun experience, and then driving through the winding rainforest gives you an honest appreciation for the ancient beauty of the world's most precious treasures. If you are lucky, you'll spot a cassowary, but don't approach them as they can put up... More
