Check out thewilds.org. We stayed one night in a queen Yurt and had a great time. Wonderful view from the Yurt deck and viewed lots of animals. This is an animal conservancy. One dinner, one breakfast, one night stay in a Yurt and open or closed bus tour of the animals. Would definitely do this again. Other things to do... More

The Wilds is a great chance to see animals in something close to their native habitat without traveling to Africa. I've been several times, and each time the guide is wonderful and very knowledgeable. This was the first time bringing my toddler. Although he enjoyed most of the trip, he was more used to the zoo experience and didn't get... More

We had an amazing time at The Wilds! Our family had reservations for the 11:00 open air tour. We arrived at the Wilds 30 minutes early and parked. you then take a shuttle to the main area and we left for our tour promptly. We were able to see lots of animals and it was fun being in an open... More

Our timing was bad, horse back tour was the prime reason we went, and they were not available. The weather was a little too chilly for the giraffes, so they were not available, either. The zip line was fabulous, i've zipped before and found this one to be superior on all measures. Was just my daughter and myself, so NO... More

Every staff member that we met were friendly & seemed excited to be there. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. Seeing the bisons up close was great. The 2.5 hr tour was long enough. After about 2 hours, u were getting tired on the bus. My whole family enjoyed themselves.

Our guide was Phil and he was knowledgeable, pleasant and entertaining. We took the open-air tour that lasted about 2.5 hours. It was a cooler morning, we were on the 10:30 tour. The animals were out and that was fun. Plenty of photo ops were available. The open air-tour runs $30, but there are some coupons to be found, if... More

A 65-70 degree day with light overcast brings out the animals. What a fun trip. Our guide Sarah was entertaining, informational and an all around joy. The animals came close to the open air vehicle which runs $30 a person for 2.5 hours. Make sure to try a burger at the snack stand in the carnivore center. We will be... More

The Wilds is not a typical zoo that you walk around to see the animals in enclosures. It's more of a wild animal park where you can view endangered animals on an open range, through several different types of tour excursions. We went on an enclosed safari tour, which was in an air conditioned bus. Our tour guide, Denny, was... More

Spent a night in a Yurt. Its a nomad dwelling. Sleeps two has running water and bathroom facilities. Did a open air Safarie then spent the night in the yurt. With that came a free supper and breakfast the next morning. Our Kurt was by the lake where the animals came to bathe and drink. What an experience. Must Do... More

We booked a yurt for our first trip to The Wilds to make a weekend out of it. The cost is a bit high but included dinner, breakfast the next morning and a tour. I felt the cost was worth all we got out of it. The yurt itself was lovely, nicely decorated and had both heat and AC. It... More
