Lovely place to take a walk and relax. Lots of wildlife but did not manage to see any red squirrels. You can spend hours just soaking in the atmosphere. We had lunch in the tearooms which was great. Good food, great cakes and delightful Earl Grey tea. Recommend a visit.

The home of Earl Grey Tea: Delightful gardens and walks aroun the grounds of Howick Hall, choose your time for maximum value, we were slightly early for the full flowering experience, but nevertheless delightful amongst the daffodills by the bucket load. The Tea rooms are lovely, even if you are averse to Earl Grey, my coffee was superb

The gardens are very pretty and lots of diffeent areas t explore. The woods and arboretum are extensive and can spend hours walking through them. Interesting at all times of the year starting with snowdrops then daffodils and tulips etc. Wear walking boots/shoes for best exploring. Esrl Grey Tea Rooms are a lovely place for tea/coffee or lunch and see... More

Was really looking forward to this having read such good reviews. The house (not open to the public as yet) looks fantastic and the gardens are equally stunning. The only problem for us with the poor weather the snowdrops were past it but the rhoddies were not yet in bloom, A lovely series of walks all of which are well... More

The arboretum was lovely and peaceful (our visit was midweek during term time) and the structure of the trees and landscape were stunning with so few leaves on the trees. The snowdrops and aconites added further splashes of colour to the variety of tree bark that we saw. As it is quite an extensive site we spent almost four hours... More

My husband and I visited in March 2013 and popped into the tea room at the end of our visit. We were pleasantly suprised how good it was. The setting is lovely and you almost feel you are eating in the house itself. Staff were friendly and polite and the food was excellent. We each had sandwiches and they were... More

Peace and tranquility with some wonderful walks. Great little cafe and don't miss the walk down to the sea.

We visit Howick Hall on a very regular basis. The grounds are superb and the scenery and the colours change by the season. The walks around the gardens and woods are fantastic. You may be lucky enough to spot a red squirrel. The highlight of the day has to be lunch in the beautiful tearooms. The food is super, always... More

Very good and pleasant gardens especially at the moment with the snowdrops out. Can recommend a visit to the tea rooms of Earl Gray especially for afternoon tea.
