This is a ten minute hike on a nicely paved trail if you're moving without small children/babies. However, it took us 20 minutes or more to get to the beach...haha. We had to stop at every large tree stump turned child's fort along the way and hide inside and explore. It was a glorious walk part way along a river.... More

I stumbled on this park by accident, and now it's one of my favorite places to go when I visit the Oregon coast. I most recently did the Cape Falcon trail up to the overlook, beautiful views along the way (and spectacular at the top), old growth forest, wildlife, streams, and the switchbacks/elevation aren't too difficult. I went up and... More

Oregon's entire coast is dotted with beautiful state parks, but this is one of the best. If you have only a short time to spend in this spectacular region, go here! There are gigantic old growth trees, a rushing mountain stream, a variety of hiking trails and a beautiful beach with views of the majestic headlands that dominate the seascape.... More

There is NO longer any campground there! It was closed in 2009 and remains CLOSED. We've visited this park a time or two, and it's set up differently than many other day-use State Parks. First, you park in one of two huge parking lots alongside the highway. It seems as if there are hundreds of cars here. One of the... More

This was by far one of our favorites on our Oregon Coast Journey. The trails were so beautify and we saw so much wildlife including a Deer Doe and her Fawn. We spent a couple of hours just wondering on the trails and looking at the beauty of it. There were very few people so we were able to enjoy... More

A gem. The entrance is connected to a large parking lot. Many surfers come to Oswald for the shallow and long stretches. Dogs love it, too. At low tide, it had some of the most spectacular tidal pooling. Huge sea stars, sea urchins, vegetable life galore. The setting could not be more majestic and beautiful.

Short, easy walk down to the beach, which is very, very dog friendly... surfers galore, caves and a waterfall near the beach. There was a little tidle pool with starfish in it! All in all, I could hardly tear myself away!

I stopped here and took the trail down to the beach. It is so lovely walking through the trees/forest and down to the beach. I can't wait to return. Very beautiful and peaceful!

We asked several locals if we should go to Ecola or Oswald for a hike. All of them said Oswald. The hike to Cape Falcon was recommended by a guide at the visitor center in Cannon Beach. We did the 2 1/2 mile hike (each way) and were not disappointed. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. This is not a very... More
