Basically meant for kids, but also geared toward adults so they are not extremely bored. It covered all sorts of different types of science and you would have to be dead not to find some sort of thing that interested you. For sure worth every penny!

First off, it's really a cool place if you're a kid. It's just simply not that entertaining as an adult. Plus, it's pretty spendy. If you have a preschool or elementary aged child, this is a great place to go and introduce them to a bunch of different areas of science. If you are an adult, you might be disappointed.... More

OMSI is really geared towards the kids, which is OK. Adults can enjoy as well, but the museum really shines as a young persons educational center

Caught the last weekend of this traveling exhibit on the recommendation of a friend. Don't miss it if it comes to your town!

The I MAX was very good. After paying $$ for museum entrance, we found that the planetarium, the submarine, and each I MAX film was at additional charge. This was a costly 2-3 hours. The CL street car is the closest public transportation, leaving you quite close to the museum.

Plan on spending a whole day at OMSI or purchase an annual membership so you can return multiple times. There are so many fascinating exhibits and things for kids to try that you need several visits. We had a private submarine tour with Bill which was great, lots of interesting facts. Another highlight was the special Mythbusters Exhibition which had... More

We drove into Portland to visit the OMSI due to lousy rainy weather. We wanted something to keep us entertained while the weather was not cooperating. We spent a few hours in the afternoon here and also took in an IMAX film. The museum is fairly new and lots of interesting exhibits. I always like to learn new things and... More

We kept coming back so ended up just becoming members. It makes science fun, for the whole family. They have things for all ages, children through adult. Well worth the visit.

We went to OMSI today, primarily to see the MythBusters exhibit. We are members of the museum, so are frequent visitors. It is fun to see families with kids enjoying some hands on science. Highly recommended!

The submarine tour was incredible! We were very fortunate to have Earl lead our tour. He had tremendous knowledge as he had in fact served on one. Everyone in the group (of 8) was captivated by his stories and asked a lot of questions, stretching the tour well into his lunch hour. My husband is a World War II buff... More
