when we walked in the front desk was very helpful ,they did not charge my teen admission ( I think they like kids to learn history!) I asked about the research room as I had some local connections even though the research room was not open till afternoon the lady asked me what names I was researching , wrote them... More

Great displays, interesting, fun filled and an opportunity to learn about Douglas County. Educational, convenient to reach, and well laid out.

This is a very worthwhile place to visit and bring the kids. There are natural history and local history exhibits, and they have a hands-on touch museum room for kids downstairs. It's cheap, and is never crowded. There is a good mix of interactive and traditional exhibits. I especially enjoy the museum's local historical photos.

Great Logging exhibit! Skip the mediocre upstairs... or go for drive in nite in the summers... Original train station too! Located next to fair grounds

Nice museum with easy freeway access. Good local history with interactive exhibits for kids. Fairly new to area so I learned about local history. Fun afternoon at a reasonable price. Might be a good choice for kids on a rainy afternoon.

Finding ouselves in Roseburg on a cold and drizzly day, we made our way to this museum, where we spent several hours. It's a very nice, modern building with excellent exhibit space. The exhibits are well presented and attractively dispalyed, and there is a nice variety. Exhibit descriptions told us what we wanted to know in a way that was... More

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this county museum. It features local history exhibits, information about the Oregon Trail, including a covered wagon display with items pioneers would have packed, and has locally discovered mammoth and mastodon bones, and an area explaining about animals, birds, and repltiles native to the area.

We're full-time travelers and visit a lot of museums, and were impressed with this facility. Although limited in it's size, the exhibits were well presented and the animal mounts were some of the best we've ever seen. Well worth the small admission price.
