Now that we are looking back at the war of 1812 this is one MUST SEE for any one.What a great way to learn about our history...ENJOY

being 8 blocks from my house i was at the library their and realized their was a museum their so i went in and checked it out not realizing erie p.a. has a vast pass on this lake it was very interesting

Do not miss a visit to the Flagship Niagara if you are in the area--better yet, sail on it! This is a 200 year old ship that took part in the Battle of Lake Erie in 1813. And you can actually sail on it and watch them fire off the cannons. Knowledgeable staff will make the experience truly special.

There is a lot of local history. It is great to learn about the part Lake Erie played in our fight for freedom. This is also where the flagship "Niagara" is docked. What a beauriful site.

The museum was full of people who were extremely well versed about the 1812 war. There was a movie and lots of artifacts.

This museum is spacious, uncluttered, easy to learn about the Great Lakes. Very organized.Toured the Niagara, tour guide was awesome as was staff in the museum. Added bonus: There is a library attached to the musuem. Very nice.

Nice facility... they've done a great job with it. Taking a tour of the boat with an informed guide was a plus- he was able to point out all the little ins and outs fo 19th century naval navigation. Maritime history in various formats for any age and interest level. The best time to visit is when the Brig Niagara is in port. Enjoyed the tour of the Niagara. It was interesting to see the lower deck of the ship and how the sailors lived. The museum part is fairly small, but interesting.
