We visted the help center next door to the historical soceity and the woman who talked with us was very nice and extremely helpful about the area. When we went next door a charming male librarian showed us exactly what we needed to do in terms of looking up relatives in their card catalog and if we chose so, online.

We learned at lot about the Mennonite community. We spent an entire day there looking thru the history books. We try to find if we had any relatives that may have been a mennonite back in the old old old days.

We especially liked the informational film and the well-stocked book store and gift shop. We highly recommend a visit here.

Saw the brochure at our hotel concerning the viewing and explanation of The Tabernacle. Was not disappointed. Also, it was very interesting to watch their free video regarding the Amish and Mennonites.

While this is admittedly a small museum, the films and the lifesize model of the tabernacle make it well worth the admission fee. The tabernacle tour takes about 40 minutes with a well versed guide explaining in detail how it came to be, how it was assembled, transported and used. I've read the passages multiple times but until you see... More

The two films introducing the Amish and Menonite customs was well worth the fee. Especially if your are not familiar with their lifestyle. I definitely gained a new respect for their culture. It also helped me to respect their hardwork and understand their beliefs. They are hardworking people who value their farms and families. Their homes and farms are pristine... More

Visited when in Lancaster many years ago. This provides good info on the settlement of Anabaptists in the local area.
