This was my first bus trip and we traveled with Yankee Trails Bus tour. Our driver Brad and our guide Rita made the two day tour more enjoyable. We left from Latham, NY. It was a very full two days of experience. It could easily have been three days. After our departure, on route we stopped at the Cracker Barrel... More

When I grew up here, didn't know what the fuss was all about, but now that I've lived elsewhere, I know this is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. The simplicity of the Amish is admirable, if not a little mysterious. They certainly work hard to stay a community, and to help each other out whenever their's... More

We visit the Amish country several times a year, usually staying overnight. The restaurants are great, although some offer quantity over quality. One of our favorites is . Dienner's on Rt. 30. They have a small buffet, Amish-style comfort food, but it's a lot less expensive, only about $10, than most, and the quality is very good. We like to... More

Driving down Old Philadelphia Pike taking in the scenery of farm houses and horses and buggies was delightful as was the visit to the Farmers Market in Bird-In-Hand.

I like taking rides to the Amish Country and seeing the differences in the hospitality showed and received there versus Wyomissing, West Reading, Shillington, Sinking Spring, Exeter, Muhlenberg and Reading. Amish Country reminds me of the south very much: simple, trusting, very pleasant, kind, beautiful, taken care of and not trashed. They are grateful for what they have and they... More

The Amish Country is so beautiful and the people are so nice. We came up from DC and had a great time up here. We stayed in the Econo Lodge Hotel which has a Amish Farm right behind the hotel. It was just great to see the sunrise from the window. The Amish are nice people and ride in a... More

Overall, the buggy ride was pretty good! I was a little dissapointed that the "cookie run" wasnt being offered on the day we went, but it was a Sunday so I was glad that it was even open in the first place. The ride was very relaxing and it was so nice to see the pastures. The driver, although not... More

We visited Lancaster with the main purpose of learning more about the Amish family and faith. So, we took to the back roads and stopped in at the family farms to purchase pies, quilts and other home made items. As they warmed up to us they shared a lot of their views and "conditions" associated with their way of life.... More
