Interesting and informational. Went here on a field trip with school kids. It has interesting facts about the area.

The place bills itself as "the" place to do genealogical research for Western Pennsylvania. But no research repository, no matter how good, is worth $18.00 to enter (wow--forgive me--it's only $13 for senior citizens!) plus a paid parking lot that costs at least $5/hr. Needless to say, we walked out. We didn't want to see the museum proper, we only... More

We visited the Heinz History Center and it was so much fun. There was so much to see and experience that I want to go back sooner rather than later. They had a special exhibit on 1968. It was put together in a month to month way, and it is still hard to look back at that pivotal year. Throughout... More

Did not know what I was walking into when I visited, but I spent a few hours finding out more about Pittsburgh than I had ever known.

I love this museum, and have been there at least 3 times since it opened. The exhibits do change over time and I was excited to see the sports area had been expanded since my last visit. Was only slightly disappointed that the Heinz Exhibit was under renovation. The current list of exhibits is good and worthwhile. Our 12 year... More

This was a wonderful look at the past. Great history of Pittsburgh. Lots of things to look at, a trolley, ice cream shop, and plenty of history. Very well done and worth the visit.

There is a lot o see here. For kids there is a refurbished trolley to pretend to drive or ride and a play room above the cafe where they can pretend to work at an ice cream shop or build with blocks and then go down a slide. They have a deli type cafe. Not many options for picky kids... More

The Heinz History Center is located adjacent to the exciting Strip district. There are permanent and temporary exhibits, and a large gift shop. We went to the the "1968" exhibit, with memorabilia of this wonderful/horrible year- there were innumerable "artifacts" of the time, interactive exhibits, and endless memories. The setting of the History Center in an old ice house is... More

We visited on a weekday, so we were worried about parking. We parked in the huge lot across the street (although we did have to go down about a block - no big deal). Our first stop was the 1968 exhibit which was great! It is a big place with lots to see. The little sandwich shop inside is phenomenal.... More

Went to see the year of love 1968 which was great. Then we proceeded on . 6 floors of sports, Indians , slavery , Pittsburgh crafts and more. Totally moving experience , something for everyone. Plenty of chairs with great views and employees who obviously love working there. A truly wonderful day!!
