I camp here every chance I get to kayak both the Alleghany River and Tionesta Lake as it's fresh air, clean water, birds, and less people around then Ohio.
We've camped at the Outflow recreation area for 11 years now. My kids are 20 and 18 and still love to go with us. Honestly, there isn't much to do, but the campground is clean, the restrooms and showers are clean, it's quiet. The creek is handy for fishing, tubing or just wading. The roads in the camp are paved... More
I have been going here for years. This is a gorgeous part of the US in the summer and fall. If you like the outdoors, this is fantastic. Camping is great. The people are friendly. The hiking - none better. Tionesta doesn't have a lot of eating options, but the diner was priced fair and the food was good. There... More
my family loves going watching the boat.Plus you can go fishing at one part of the dam. i love it its so much fun
My wife and I camped in the area for years when we were kids. 20 years later..... Wow has it changed. The thriving hunting, fishing, camping of days adore are gone. Tionesta Lake is the most beautiful place on earth. The Allegany national Forest is just beautiful !!
It is just beautiful and serene. It is never crowded which makes boating very pleasurable. They also have a camping area which I have not done, but I did hear good things.
We would take our sons there and enjoyed be out and about with the kids. We had seen a lot of wild life.
I've camped here for years, and it's so peaceful. The fishing is pretty good too, and canoeing along the creeks and streams is a great joy. A fun way to spend a weekend if you like the great outdoors.
We camp here quite often and really enjoy our stay. If you are a boater and fisherman great place with the dam and the river. The campground is very quiet for the most part and the town of Tionesta is very friendly and there are some resturants around that are a good deal. Also if you get lucky you can... More
