They have classes for dogs, children on "stick horses", weaklings shown in halter, yearlinga down on halter, youth riders, mares, stallions, flat shod, plantation shod, and"big lick" (2-3 plastic wedges between the hoof and the shoe on the front legs). Our family loves The TN Walking Horse Celebration. Every year we go and enjoy the beautiful horses and decorated horse barns. We love it.
Do not support the cruelty that each of these horses endures in this show. Please research what happens to obtain this un natural gate. Hard to believe that this is acceptable in this era. So very sad. Check out ABC under cover story about this industry. Shame on the organizers and judges for encouraging this animal abuse. I am sickened.
this is the venue to come to. You really get the "old time" feel at this great annual event. And it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I don't know a lot about horses but I love the showmanship of the walking horse. Also the farms in the area are something to see.
