It's surrounded by factory's and warehouses which is not nice. It could have much better conditions since is located on the top of the hill.

This isn't a bad park and is a nice place to eat a picnic lunch. You can see the original earthworks here and parking isn't great. It's kind of tough to find so don't hesitate to ask a local. I parked on the back road next to a manufacturing facility and was able to get right in and out.

The fortified Union Army fort in Franklin Tennessee. This is a park setting with the detail signage through the area. This was a nice relaxing walk.

We plan to come back to Franklin to visit this park and go on the 3 mile trail. We went out there on our way out of town and did not have time to tarry there. It was apparent the park is well used and it had a lot of nice picnic areas. Our guide at Carter House had just... More

Although rustic, it is very interesting, informative, and historical. Well worth the trip and exercise.

On Nov. 30, 1864, Union artillery from Fort Granger shelled the right flank of the incoming Confederate attack upon distant Federal defense lines. Also, commanding Union Gen. John Schofield used the fort as his headquarters during the battle. The battle of Franklin never actually reached this fort, as far as attacking infantry goes. The fort was separated from the main...
