The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more. « less

We were fortunate to be in the Nashville area when the Franklin Theatre posted a live concert with Michael Martin Murphey. Having read Tripadvisor reviews about this special venue, I immediately secured tickets and managed to get them in the front row of the Cabaret section directly in front of the stage. Wow! What an experience. Murphey was just awesome,... More

I was a guest at a matinee event at the Historic Franklin Theater and could not believe how it had been transformed! The stage was so terrific and the seating made it easy to see. Sound was good as well as the entertainers. We enjoyed this and will be back for other events. A perfect venue for this perfect small... More

Went to the Franklin Theatre on the recommendation of a friend to see a movie on a Saturday night. So glad we chose this venue over the big chain theater. Beer and Wine, small and intimate, the audience fed on each other as we enjoyed an Oscar nominated film. I felt I appreciated the movie so much more because of... More

I cannot say enough nice things about the Franklin Theatre. If you ever, and I mean ever have the opportunity to attend a Studio Tenn production at the Theatre, absolutely do not pass-up the opportunity, even if you must travel and stay over night. A Studio Tenn production at the Franklin Theatre alone is worth a visit to Franklin

I was here for an event one evening. The theatre is very quaint but not confining. There was about 300+ people at our event. It seemed big and small at the same time, if that makes sense. I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. I had an isle seat and could see the stage and hear... More

We have a very generous community that lovingly contributed to save it for future generations and turn it into a world class live music venue in addition to preserving the tradition to see great movies and live theater in an historic setting. This historical theatre was redone about a year ago. The seating is clean and comfortable and the theatre is always doing cute, gimmicky things to entertain the attendees. I haven't seen a musical performance there per se, but have seen some movies and oh, so fun. Oh, and you can get a glass of wine. Bathrooms are fabulous!
