Very disappointed. Probably expected too much. Many police, many drunks, loud, more scary than fun. Total pass... "Lets get out of here!" There were just too many drunks, pushing, and trouble looking for a place to happen. We were really expecting a much different experience than what we found and were not comfortable with.

We spent the whole day here. Great shops and bars. Just go, take in the atmosphere and enjoy the great southern USA hospitality. Beale Street simply ROCKS.

We went to Memphis for the music festival and spent time every day on Beale Street. Every bar has free live music in the evenings (only one had a small cover charge) and most of them during the day too. These musicians play only for tips and every one that we saw were fantastic. Being a fan of blues music, I had to get myself to Beale Street. Not disappointed. Great atmosphere. Tons of good music. Bars are friendly. New Gerry Lee Lewis club worth a visit.

What a fun place to visit lots of things to see .look out for the mountain goats at silkys bar soso funny . The bars are always rocking with music . Shops are really good and cheap some good bargains

loved it on beale street lots of action going on as it was the music festival wkend ,no trouble there as everyone was to busy enjoying them selves , the food was great and poeple have lots to talk about the area its nice to listen to them also lots of elvis memrobelia in hard rock cafe

It was fun to stroll Beale street during the day and listen to some of the music. We returned on a Saturday night and it is a whole different place. They close off the entrance and check everyone entering the area and it is mobbed. It is like one huge party. WILD!

Glorified bourbon street... With BBQ chicken.. And u get patted down before entering the street.. Couldn't even bring my 20 oz. UNOPENED BOTTLE OF DR PEPPER on the street

My Beale Street experience was very enjoyable. Lots of great blues music and great food. There also was plenty gift shops and the people were very friendly and always had good stories to tell about the history of the city. I didn't have a dull moment while I was there.

We toured most of Tennessee, and while in Memphis couldn't pass up seeing the famous Beale Street! We had the kids with us, so we went down on the earlier end. It reminded us of NewOrleans' Bourbon Street,
