Lovely reserve. Poor cafe, no food cafe available. No baby changing facilites. Expected better from high profile reserve.

The reserve had been on our 'to do' list for sometime .An opportunity to combine a spring watch tour with the visit prompted us to visit this week. We were not disappointed! The staff were lovely both on the phone whilst booking tickets and on our arrival. The volunteer that took us around was passionate about birds and wildlife in...

This RSPB nature reserve is one of my favourite places in Britian. It is such a magical and beautiful place with ancient woodland, old walls covered in moss and ivy, grassland, marsh and estury. Great for wildlife watching or just for a magical walk. It is a very special place.
The staff here are lovely, and the walks around the reserve are breathtaking, also with the BBc there it is all the more exciting, plenty of wildlife of all descriptions, especially the cheeky squirrels who try to convince you to give them some of your snacks, we are definately going to go back
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to visit. A variety of walks around the reserve cater for all abilities. We were lucky enough to visit when BBC SpringWatch were setting up and were treated to a tour of the locations and studio / production village.
Very well run reserve with the local wildlife very much in mind- it's big enough to take a lot of people and you feel like you've got the place to yourself.
Dave & his team are very welcoming and their knowledge is very useful.
Springwatch walks are currently available and I attended a bird ringing event which was very intersting-...

Its so pretty and peaceful here, lots of hides and woodland walks. Springwatch filmed here and will be here again 2013. We saw plenty of birds, horses and sheep. There is a new boardwalk through the reeds and we flushed a snipe out whilst walking past. Its a must if you love wildlife.
Best RSPB reserve visited so far. the many varied landscapes make for brilliant birdwatching. Will go again!
Ynys Hir is an R.S.P.B. treasure. It is blissfully peaceful and a Twitcher's paradise. For a gentle walk and a chance to see some of the wonderful wildlife this place is perfect.
Beautiful scenery. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wellies useful if it's been raining. We couldn't get to all the hides.
