This was my 2nd Magic cruise out of the Zport of Galveston. Have another planned to the Eastern Caribbean in 3 months. The ship is Beautiful, the Staff is exceptionally friendly and efficient. Just got back 2 weeks ago from my last cruise. Both cruises, Carnival's Embarkation Process went very smoothly. Same with Comings & Goings at Various Ports. They... More

Be very careful, I got the norovirus the second night on the ship, March 3-10, 2013. I spent 3 days in isolation, could not leave my cabin, did not have anyone clean it for 3 days. I missed all the ports of call, except to get medications from a pharmacy. Carnival did not inform us they had the norovirus on... More

My wife and I have been on a few cruises leaving from different ports and the Port of Galveston is the worst. It was a sheer nightmare. Nothing but waiting in lines. This is not the way to start or end a vacation. It took us over 2 hours to get on board the ship and 3 hours to get... More

I just returned last week from a vacation on the Carnival Magic. It is a very nice ship, and I have cruised many times. If you are looking for a great place to park, try Park and Cruise that is right across the street. I am not talking about down the street--I mean right across the street. We used the... More

Checking in and boarding the ship at the terminal was a breeze. We were there early and the only slow down was checking for liquor. I'm sure they're doing what they're told to do but they do get a little carried away. Leaving the ship and going through Customs was a different matter. It took two hours to get a... More

This port is by far the worst American port I have sailed from. Disembarkation was a nightmare. I seriously hope I do not have to sail with Princess again from this port. Bad, Bad, bad!

My husband and I (who are in are late 20s) went on the Carnival Magic Cruise in March 2013. We had a fantastic trip. James Charlton (the Cruise Director) does a wonderful job of getting the passengers into and involved in the different events and keeps everyone well informed of all the of upcoming events throughout the day. You will... More

We went through the Port of Galveston on the Carnival Magic last week. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was very clean. I felt they moved the lines as fast as possible and were very nice when we had questions.

Experienced cruisers will find this review elementary and primitive. They probably do not need a cruise review at all. But I am not an experienced cruiser, and other reviews left me unsatisfied. People had divergent opinions. Some reviews left me enthusiastic, while others gave cause for concern? With Carnival making unwanted news lately, I thought I would weigh in because... More
