Wow... Pretty amazing. I thought my BF would be bored but not at all - he was taking photos of some pieces he appreciated. I describe this as 'the best of the best' as it seemed to have at least one piece of every artist i could think off ... I thought i had seen it all and then rounded... More

Great mueseum. Friendly staff. Viewed the Cyrus Cylinder but prior to that, we had drinks on the outdoor patio with music.

When I lived in Houston I went several times a year; now when I visit I always make sure it is one of the stops I make as there is always some exhibit I know I will enjoy. I have NO museum of fine arts in the entire state of SC and how I miss this one.

This is a huge museum -- five buildings -- some historic homes and others that have a huge collection of art from all time periods. Easy to view, benches all around for those who need to sit, hands on activities accompany some exhibits (we learned to do silk screening) and there is a wonderful education program with lectures and films.... One of the best art museums in the country. The facility has two main buildings and pieces covering a lot of art history. Especially liked the section devoted to American art. The European art is excellent too, but I ran out of time to view it properly. Enjoyed the current exihibit on photo manipulation before Photoshop. Free lot parking or... More

The MFAH is a great place to visit if you're either living in Houston or just visiting! There are always fantastic visiting exhibits and a really good permanent collection. It is easy to spend a few hours wandering around the museum because there is so much to see. There is also a wide variety of art (something for everyone!), and... More

We visited the Houston MFA to see the Black and White Picasso exhibit which was the first time it was being displayed in the US. It was a great museum and the exhibit was fabulous.

I am originally from the East Coast and very familiar the world class museums of NYC. When I moved to Houston, I thought I had lost that. This museum pleasantly surprised me having works of art from multiple cultures from all over the world in every medium you can think of. You will find everything from the Masters to Native... More

We stumbled in on Thursday to find it Free on Thursday! No crowds either. We went through only one of the buildings today and the sculture garden. It will take more trips to see everything

Memorial Day Weekend was the last few days of MFAH's Picasso in Black and White exhibit. Tailored around his sketches, charcoals, and black and white works. This promised to be different than other Picasso specials we had attended. Meh. Maybe it was the lack of color, maybe it was the lack of display creativity, but we left feeling uninspired. Surely...
