We went to the Houston Zoo twice in April...once for a field trip and once, just me and my girls. Honestly, I'm not sure how people can just breeze through this place. On the day I went with my girls, we spent 5.5 hours here and we still missed a handful of things. It's one of the best zoos in... More

We went this time for the Christmas lights. Only some parts were open, but the lights were amazing and we did get to see some nocturnal animals, the aquarium, and have some hot chocolate. Fun thing to do, kids loved the lights.

We arrived about an hour and a half before close and were able to complete the entire park in that time. Not too many special things too it. The longhorns are worth seeing! If you're in town and have time to kill check it out.

The Zoo was well maintained, had a nice time. Would recommend that its worth spending couple of hours in the Zoo to understand the efforts put in by lot of people in managing some of the wonderful and endangered species.

The ongoing, and necessary, renovations make the walking experience easier and it's obvious the animals are well-cared for ... the kids love it and if it inspires them to take better care of our natural world and planet, then it has served a good purpose, but I still have a problem with wild animals kept in such close quarters -... My son and I went to the Zoo with BOGO coupons, and I still think I paid too much for the disappointing experience. Some of the exhibits were so run down it was embarassing. I know that the zoo is in the middle of the city, but the majority of the animals just don't have enough space. It also didn't... More

Good variety of animals look like they are well cared for...lots of shady areas and places to rest. Even though the zoo was very busy it didn't feel crowded until you got into the indoor areas like the reptile house and aquarium. Aquarium is very small... LOTS of variety in the reptile house though. We were not impressed with the... More

We always have a good time and usually go as a group with other families. As with any other tourist attraction, the food is pricey but we're there to see the animals not eat. Always a lot of choices at the gift shops.
