This beautiful little museum houses many artifacts from the famous Battle of Bennington era with very well done time lines of the battle strategies themselves. Also loads of lovely pottery, silver, etc. But the big surprise for us was the huge exhibit of Grandma Moses' paintings. There was even an interview with Grandma from the 1950's..delightful!! This museum has a lot of original paintings from Grandma Moses who was still painting in her 90's...very simple, countryside pictures. This art was continued by her son who still paints..This is so worth the trip...Many Norman Rockwells as well...famous for being on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post...Love the little girl's visit to the Doctors...Something for everyone of...

Went here on our way out of town and ended up spending a great deal of time here. The Grandma Moses exhibits were my absolute favorite.
Viist this place to learn about the Battle of Bennington and see some great art too! Overall great objects to see and interact with. A must see is the Battle of Bennington Flag, the oldest known American flag in existence! Take a close look at the stripes as they are opposite of today's American flag.

This is a nice museum with a lot of effort put into it. We walked around for a couple of hours. The classic car was the most outstanding item.
Lots of great artifacts and a National Treasure of one of the oldest American flags in existence. Humbling to think of all those who fought and died for those colors, from then and up until now.
