The drive to this temple is mesmerizing. The trees, the air, the sound of river and streams flowing, the mountains, birds, the sky, it all seems so heavenly. A wonderful temple for the believers of Lord Shiva. You need to trek a bit to reah this temple so sturdy shoes are required.
Neelkanth is famous for Lord Shiva's Temple. It's located 25-30 kms after Rishikesh. One who believes in Lord Shiva, must visit this place.

The drive from Rishikesh around 25KM one side. Old temple. The names tells you all about spirituality, diviness of the place. Tip: One should plan the travel in advance during morning to beat traffic, avoid during Mahashiv ratri festivals because of long ques.
The temple is situated on a hill. We went there by a car that we rented at the stand near Ram Jhula (Rs. 700) and the drive there is very scenic. But the temple itself is a disappointment. It is small and garish and completely lacks gravity.
