Places you are unlikely to find or visit by yourself: traditional and unspoilt communities, abandoned villages, half-forgotten paths and unexpected finds, deserted monasteries, walks on ancient ways and lunch in a real Greek Taverna, serving food from their own farm. Every day is a different route and a new little adventure. No stress, no schedule...we stop where we like and for as long as we like. Your guide Stuart lives on Naxos and knows the island and it´s people intimately and is full of useful and not so useful information, tall stories and dubious facts. Nonetheless, you will have a good time! He was also a professional travel photographer, so if you want some help with creating better images, just ask. But an interest in photography is not necessary to come along and have a great day out. Price 45 euro per person includes transport in a private car or minibus (small groups, max. 8) and pick-up from your accommodation or in town. Price does not include refreshments or lunch. « less

This stimulating and enjoyable tour made our holiday. We saw places that we would never have seen otherwise, guided by Stuart who was knowledgeable and great company. In a tiny taverna outside Moni we had a ridiculously good lunch for 8 euros. The pace of the day suited us perfectly: we saw plenty of things and learnt so much about... More

Well Stuart is an unconventional lovely Englishman with excellent local knowledge. Took us on mule tracks to find a deserted Jesuit Monastery and then a village, secluded spots and lunch cooked by an 84 yr old, in his tiny taverna/house/wine cellar. Best food I've had in Greece for €12. Suitable for anyone. We saw things I didn't find in my... More

Not your conventional, corporate operator maybe, but Stuart is a great, laid-back guide who was very flexible in shaping the tour to suit our specific requirements. Full of local stories and hidden gems, this was just the sort of tour we were looking for. Lovely lunch in a tiny taverna in Moni - the sort of place where there is... More

I enjoyed the tour a lot, this was my first time to Naxos and Greece in general, not having lots of time to plan this trip I decided to go with Stuart and explore the island with a small tour group. It was nice to sit back, relax and take in the beauty of this place. I took my 7... More

I read about this tour and that Stuart was a photographer, so I knew that he would have an eye for authentic and interesting things to see that would capture the essence of Naxos, and I was right! He is a really cool guy who speaks a few languages and is humorous yet reflective and knows a lot about Naxos.... More

I'm not a photographer. I just wanted to get my butt off the beach for a while, so I went with Stuart on Hidden Naxos Tour, and I didn't regret it. First of all I think Stuart has a great personality - with a deep interest i Naxos history, culture and nature and the soft voice of a narrator of... More

I know Stuart Thorpe because for many years now he is staying in Naxos near by my village (Apollon). As a hotel owner (Hotel Kouros in Apollon) I cannot speak for myself, but I can speak for the costumers of my hotel that took his tour. Some of them were really excited that they discovered things they wouldn't otherwise, some... More

What a great way to see what lies beyond Chora Naxos and the popular beaches. (And there is a lot that lies just over the hills.) As luck would have it -- my husband and I ended up going on a private tour with Stuart. What fun! Stuart is knowledgeable about the history, politics, culture and people of this fascinating... More

Stuart Thorpe took us on a interesting tour of central Naxos, covering areas of the island we hadn't been able to visit previously, and answered a whole stream of our questions. He provided the transport, but not the food, an intelligent arrangement which enabled us to order freely in the authentic country taverna he took us to. Highly recommended.
