Well maintained, friendly guides! Unfortunately, the gift store was quite overpriced, even though they had some great selections.

nice shop on the downstairs. i think the best part were the 2nd and 3rd floors (which nobody else seemed to visit while we were there - probably due to the $10 admission charge). good history. could spend at least 45 mins up there. we had a tour of the nearby house included in the price. it was ok -... It is worth paying the money to access upstairs and soak up the history room. As said, we enjoyed it and the $10 was our contribution to the upkeep of this historical site. Money well spent.

The Stone store was a disappointment - downstairs was a gift shop. A ten dollar entry fee gives access to the upper level of the mill and about a 15 minute self-guided tour. If that's all you take in, you may be mildly disappointed. Make sure you take in the hourly guided tour of the Kemp Mission House. Our guide... More

These adjacent properties just outside of Kerikeri are owned by the NZ Historic Places Trust. Kemp Hose is an ordinary early European settlor house (made in Oz and trf over to NZ by boat around 1820), what made the visit interesting was the detailed guided tour. There were about 10 in our group and the costumed Maori guide gave us... More

I was really impressed by the authenticity and dedication of the tour guide and staff at the Stone Store and Mission House. They even dressed the part you'd feel a glimpse of that era. The tour guide was very friendly, accommodating and warm as we listened to all the important historical facts about this precious part of New Zealand history.... More

The store does give info on its history and the wares for sale, tho the prices are a bit high. We enjoyed browsing, but didn't want to pay for the tour, tho it looked like it might be worth the 10 dollars it cost.

Thank you very much for your review of our historic sight. We are really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit but were sorry that you found the prices a bit high in the Stone Store. We do try to have a wide selection of products with a good range of price points. We are non-profit so all monies... More

A delightful afternoon was spent around the Stone store- exploring various walks and the nearby garden of Kemp House. I really loved all the wonderful products on sale at the Store- lots of knick knacks and old fashioned lollies etc. The tour was very informative and the women working there were very passionate and clearly enjoyed their work. Very friendly... More
