Being from NY and now from Pittsburgh PA the Museum isn't that big but perfect for a day out with the Grandkids. Having family in Roanoke we go down once a month to see the Gandkids and it is always nice to have some place to go. The Science Museum is in the Center in the Square where they also... More

I am a 33 year old guy from Clifton Forge, Virginia. Not too awful far from Roanoke, where I now work and live! The Star City of The South!! What a Great Place to Be!!!! I remember taking field trips in elementary school to The Center in The Square Museum and Planetarium!!!! It was amazing to see all of the... More

They are renovating the building and adding a planetarium on the roof, so you have to see a very small exhibit at Tanglewood Mall instead of the proper location. Unless they really add some new stuff and keep the price down, it will just end up being like the recent art museum in Roanoke. Empty, from no one walking thru... More

The reception was friendly. Because the museum is at the mall for now, there wasn't much to look at. The best thing to do is to go an hour before they close and take your time. We had a great time. Out of the stations they had set up, my 8 yr old enjoyed them all. The price is a... More

Great place to keep your kids engaged in the sciences. The butterfly exhibit in the new Museum (opens Spring 2013) will be an AWESOME exhibit. Lots of neat, hands on stuff. Dynamic and engaging staff make it very informative and fun

For a fun afternoon for small kids. After they get over 10 if you go more than twice the kids get bored. The planetarium is good and has good programs

This is suppose to be a temporary place in the Mall. We had a lot of fun and the folks there were so nice, friendly and helpful. it was a slow day for them and i really liked that we could go back into the Mall and shop and come back later at no charge. and the fee to get... More

When it was downtown it was pretty nice. Now in Tanglewood mall it's too small and not really worth the high admission price. Since they have less than half of what they used to have, the price should be less also. Will not go back till it moves back downtown.
