Maritime is a small museum but has material on the port, cranberry farming, history of the area and the largest light house lamp in the world. For $5 you cannot beat the history you pick up.

Special feature is the Fresnel Light that guided thousands of ships into the harbor. Many old maritime items and terasures on display and some fine local artist's works for sale. We acquired a lovely watercolor.
Housed in the old Grays Harbor Coast guard building, the museum does a great job of keeping our maritime history alive. They're only limited by a lack of space and funding, but they make the most of what they've got!
Go to the museum and get a great view of maritime history. And the light house lense is a must see! The whale bones are awesome to see too. If you have kids it is a wonderful thing to show them. They are outside in their own building so you don't have to pay to see them.
This is the greatest maritime museum I have been to! Skeletons from whales, beautiful architecture in a wonderful area where you can view boats, go fishing, crabbing or just take a leisurely stroll. You won't regret this visit!

Really enjoyed the volunteers that worked there. Lots of interesting bits and colorful stories. We were told to say "Hi" to Dennis the resident ghost! The displays were very good and the lighting excellent. The other building with the original light was awsome, and the gentleman giving the talk was great!

and Westport, Oregon. 12 minute ride, $2.00 for car and 50
cents per person, a cheap river cruise. On...

Lots of artifacts from the whaling days. Visit the fresnel lamp from the old lighthouse. Kids will love the whale skeleton.
Very interesting and educational. Price wasn't bad for the amount of time spent. Took a couple of hours so don't rush through the museum you might miss the resident ghost!
