We have enjoyed the "Rep" for years as season ticket holders. A few years ago they starting offering a variety of shows in their three theaters and you can take your pick as a season ticket holder. Inexpensive but great shows.

I've been blown away by Milwaukee productions ("The Happy Fellow" and "Avenue Q" come immediately to mind) whereas I've frequently been left underwhelmed by Broadway ones (Chorus Line, The Producers), which tend to become "calcified," formulaic, predictable and mechanical. The prices of the Milwaukee versions have been creeping (to half, or even 3/4, of Broadway prices), but I've felt I... More

If you want to see great, current, professional theater, the Milw Rep Powerhouse is the place to see it. More intimate theater, Stiemke Theater. Late August through early May. And for lighter pieces and a nice dinner or drink go to the Rep - Stackner Cabaret.

The Stackner Cabaret is venue of the Milwaukee Rep that I have never before experienced until seeing the Ring of Fire show highlighting the music of Johnny Cash. This intimate setting was perfect for enjoying the performance by Eddie Clendening, Jason Edwards, David Miles Keenan, and Mark W. Winchester. Unfortunately for us, Trenna Barnes, who usually sings with them was... More

While visiting my Son and family for Easter, we took in a play at "The Rep", our first such visit, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We loved the overall atmosphere, and the play, "A Raisin in the Sun", was superbly acted and presented. We're already looking at next season's schedule and making plans to return. A nice and unexpected feature:... More

This play was 'ok'-my 14 t.o. daughter loved it but a 3 hour play is too long for me when you can guess the next scene. The theatre is beautiful.

Great performances. Nice variety. Excellent talent. Milwaukee knows how to do it right! We been season ticket holders for about 4-5 years and have enjoyed it tremendously!

We are subscribers for over 10 years. We love the Steimke Theatre and eating at nearby restaurants. Love the theatre, feel like you are part of the play. No bad seats. Actors are fantastic.

We've been season ticket holders at the Milwaukee Rep for a long time. As a matter of fact, if you're a season ticket subscriber, when you resubscribe the subsequent year, they move your seats forward. For the last 10 years my wife and I've been sitting in front row, center seats. Interesting place to be, you get up close and... More
