The ride is somewhat short but you'll enjoy some beautiful scenery on the way. The train travels through some small canyons that are fairly densely wooded. The colors in the fall are spectacular. My son and I stop here every time we are in the dells as he is a huge train fan. The little depot area is nicely set... More

This was our third time riding the Riverside & Great Northern railway. The volunteers who run this attraction are dedicated, entertaining and very friendly. We most recently rode the pumpkin train on October 27th. It was chilly but they made sure they had blankets available for the passengers. The historical nature of the facility is that this is the actual... More

This is a wonderful family activity. Children get to pick a pumpkin from the little patch. Train ride through the fall colors is wonderful.

It was fun despite it being cold. They provided blanket which was a plus. Giving pumkins to the kids was a nice touch.

My husband and I really enjoyed this attraction with our two kids. Yes, it was a bit pricy but it was cute and the Autumn scenery was fabulous. My daughter loved the mini pumpkin patch. The grounds are very cute for train lovers,

this is a great place for kids of all ages, with narrow gauge train, depot, gift shop and history. Picnic area are clean and well maintained for guests.

Most expensive "zoo train" we have ever ridden. There is no museum to see. Keep driving and tell the kids you couldn't find it.

We took our kids, and their grandpa on this excursion. It was a nice change of pace from the other attractions in the dells. Very laid back, nice little train ride through the wilderness. The people that run the railroad are very kind, helpful people, if you have any questions they will answer them for you. The trains are kept... More

My family visited the R&GN Railway this week and it was a big hit with our kids. Keep in mind that this is a small train -- not a regular sized one. You could chose to sit in an open air seat or in a mini compartment; both were comfortable for adults in my opinion. The train runs every hour... More
