Neat old guns and the stories that go with them. Makes you want to go out searching yourself. These guns paint a picture of American history and the settling of the west and what it took to be a pioneer or mountain man.

Summer trip to visit Cody Wyoming, 2012. We were on our family holiday thru the U.S.A. this year and one of our stops was The Cody Dug Up Gun Museum. I am a history buff and thought that this would be a cool place to check out. We were met at the front by a nice young lady who took... More

I didn't think I'd go to another gun museum after going to the Buffalo Bill Center, but this place is really something special. It's very easy to miss since it is on a side street off the main drag in Cody. But the glass cases full of guns tell so many great stories, and Hans really knows his stuff. Most... More

The Dug Up Gun Museum is a quick stop while in Cody, especially if you're interested in firearms. Takes about 30-45 minutes to see all the displays. A donation is requested. I'm not especially intrigued by firearms, but found the museum to be quite interesting.

My partner, who is especially interested in old firearms, loved this museum. He particularly enjoyed talking with Hans who is extremely knowledgeable and has lots of stories to tell. Shame that more people don't know about this museum, so spread the word.

We stopped in here at 8:45 after the gun fight and dinner. The owner was SO nice and knowledgeable. We could have spent much more time here than we did. Perfect for the gun nuts in your family. Revolutionary War all the way to WWII! Don't miss this little gem!
