We have been stopping by Kealia Ranch store for shave ice for 5 years. If you are going to the place of Refuge its not too far or near captain cook. the 101 highway marker. The Kealia Ranch Store has the best Hawaiian shave ice - they make their own fresh syrup that isn't sticky sweet. Try the passion fruit shave ice (really the very best ever) or the mango popscicles - raves for both.
