This company is an all around unprofessional disaster. I called during business hours looking for information got voicemail. I left a message asking for a call back which I never received. After 2 more unsuccessful attempts to contact Lava Ocean, I went ahead and booked the predawn tour online. I did not receive a confirmation. So I called again -... More

Imagine: you pay $175 per person for a pre dawn sunrise lava watching tour. You get up by 2.30 in the morning (others were on the road for 2 hours by then), you make it on time to the described place at 4am and nobody from the company shows up or is reachable for nearly 2 hours! You stand there... More

This review is based on the Sunset tour that my husband and I took on May 3, 2013. Keep in mind that it is based on us sitting in the very first row of the boat. First tip, if you don't want to sit in the front, make sure to be in the front of the line to climb up... More

I really do not understand why Lava Ocean Adventures is getting any bad reviews....this is a one of a kind experience. There are no bells and whistles what you see is what you get. It seems that the folks that are giving them poor reviews did not fully understand what they were going to see or experience. 1st of all,... More

This one is a bit tough to score. If the lava is flowing (which it was for us), seeing it pouring into the ocean up close (maybe 100 feet away) is awe-inspiring, and it's a view you probably cannot get any other way. But the trip is kind of pricey, and for your money you get about 80 minutes (40... More

We decided to view the flowing lava by boat versus a guided hike (3 miles each way, ~$100/person) or by helicopter ($200/person). It was probably the most intimate way to view the lava hitting the sea, and is certainly a unique and fascinating experience (5 stars). They get you pretty close, up to 10 feet, and it feels reasonably safe... More

What a ride! The ocean was a little rough on our Sunrise Lava tour, but it was well worth it. We saw volumes of lava flowing into the ocean! The waves hitting the lava sizzled, and sent sprays of lava chunks and lava sand into the air. An unforgettable experience!

Read the following e-Mail, which I sent to Lava Ocean Adventures on March 4th, and you will know why I'm warning against booking at this company. I did not even get an e-mail-answer, not even a "kiss my backside" ... Words fail me, regarding such practices... Dear Sirs and Madams, unfortunately you did not answer to my e-mail from Wednesday,... More

What you need to know!!! 1. First of all, this tour is overpriced for the service you are getting and by the way very poor service. 2. This tour indicated it’s about 2 hr... you will actually spend no more than 20 minutes watching the lava and it is extremely spectacular. One hour and half (round trip) just getting there.... More

Wow ! Wow ! and Wow ! One of the best experiences in my life ! We are in a boat, about 400 feet from the lava flow entering in the ocean ! Spectacular. Felt very safe all the time. Do not miss that ! Worth every penny !
