the food was what you would expect from a buffett.. Show was good, get there early if you did not purchase reserved seating, so that you can get a good seat.. We were able to get seats right up front, kids enjoyed being included in the show..

This was our 2nd luau - the first being a couple years ago in Maui. We sat in the VIP section, but were seated off to the side right by the speaker, so it was a poor view, too close to the stage and very loud. Because it only seats 400 people, the non-VIP seats are great, as long as...

I presume this is the right one! This was terrific. We had been to the sister hotel's luau in Lahaina, which was very good, but this one was even better, probably because it was smaller, only about 100 people. The pig was very fresh and tasty, as was all the food, and the entertainment was brilliant, somewhat different from the...

Some people were gripping that it was too costly - but everything cost a fortune anyway so just do it. The food was great and no need to pay the extra to get in first - go a bit early because the place usually sells out. Try it all - you may never come back.
Would not have missed it. Talent was better than expected, food just so so. Fire dancer was the hit of the show, but seemed to beg for applause, which detracted from his performance.
Well lets say that if not for the two hours of open bar this review would probably less than average. We were squished into banquet tables waiting to scoop up mediocre food. The entertainment was cheesy, especially the beach sarong fashion show. We tipped the bar tender well so our drinks made the event a little more entertaining.
This is one of the better luaus I have been to on the Islands. All the booze you want, and food that is good (not great) All seats are good, and the setting is lovely. Good dancers, too. Really expensive, but all these luaus are.
A good overall experience. The pork was a little salty, but married well with the other dishes. The native dishes were off to the side, so be sure to not load up on the boring stuff and try the local dishes. The fern salad and fresh tuna were my favorites. Open bar was nice, but closed earlier than I expected....

I have tried to write my review 3 times and each time I submit it says an error. I wonder if somehow they have control on negative comments.
The food was bad, the pork was prepared with sea salt and was so salty no one could eat it. The only two good items were the pineapple and sweet potatoes prepared...

The Luau at the Marriott is a great show and ended up being one of my girlfriend and I's "Top 3" while on the Big Island! The show itself is quite good (keeping in mind how flashy/showy and not traditional Luaus have become in Hawaii, thanks to Hollywood and American promotion). Nonetheless, the hula dancers were good; the singing and...
