I keep coming back to enjoy a nice walk and to take photos around sunset. Lots of activities like kayaking, stand up paddle boards, paddling, runners, families enjoying the beach. Just a nice peaceful place to be

I was disappointed not being able to walk out to the end of the pier. It is closed off for construction. Lots of activity at the beach to watch, popular with surfers.

I finally found a beach on Kauai that you could walk into the water w/out water-shoes on and not cut your foot on the volcano rocks. The ocean bottom was smooth. Mainly a beach used by surfers but swimmers are present. Parking is also available.

If you are in Hanalei this the best place for views and pictures of the beautiful Hanalei Bay . Even if you are not a beach person it is worth the stop. You can watch the surfers, meet locals and other tourist.

We visited the first week of March 2013 and thought we were lost. The covered part of the pier is missing and so is the post card style charm. We were a bit bummed. So what's the story about the remolded bridge? We'd love to know.

We wanted to visit this pier, when we arrived, we thought we were at the wrong spot. Nope, we were at the right spot. All of the pictures we saw in the tourist guides, post cards, etc, showed it having the canopy. Once there, it was missing. No biggie, we walked on the pier anyways. We watched some surfing classes... More

It is fun to walk to the end of the pier and watch the surfers catching waves and hope to spot whales too.

Good central location for surf school. Washrooms, showers and a hot food stand selling tacos and burritos. God safe area for learning to surf or kayak in the waves.

The beech was about a good as you can get. Water not too deep so swimming was safe. Pier has a wonderful history. Beech was huge and the sand very fine and easy to walk in.
