We've been to this beach numerous times and have seen monk seals and turtles very often. The water is generally calmer here although during high surf, nothing is calm. Very good parking as well.

This beach is beautiful. It does have different areas as the other views state. However, if you just want to swim or float around, the rocks and drop-offs can be treacherous. And the beach is surprisingly small to be rated so well. There is a lifeguard.
I am not the most confident of swimmers and having a Lifeguarded beach here was great. We went on a later afternoon on a Thursday and it wasn't very crowded at all. What little snorkeling we did was great. Definitely recommended for a fab beach stay.
What more can you ask for? Great sand, fun waves for kids to play in, world class surfing, great boogie board site, sea turtles, seals, amazing snorkelling, great eats.....and the best sunsets ever!
Good snorkeling. A nice protected children area perfect for kids under 5, along with a small playground area. Might want to bring reef shoes if you want to go outside the sandy kids area. Plenty of parking and a decent restaurant nearby.
This is a great beach and park for families. The rocks create a calmer area for kids and less experienced swimmers. One day we saw a sea turtle in the water and the next we saw another sea turtle and monk seals sunning themselves in the sand. Pretty awesome! Parking is in a lot across the street next to Brennecke's...

What a wonderful beach. There is something for everyone. Two lagoons (one on either side of the tombolo); the right side seemed to have more fish when we snorkeled. Luckily enough, there was a turtle and a monk seal basking on the beach (stay away from them!) and a turtle came in to feed on the vegetation floating around from...

This is a favorite beach for many who visit Kauai. If it is raining on the North Shore then head to Poipu and youwill find sun, breeze and great snorkeling. Aslo some good surfing beside the beachhouse restaurant and lots of enormous turtles swimming near buy eating algae off the rocks.
Spent an afternoon sunning and swimming there. Parking was easy but it does fill up so you may have to circle a bit for a spot. Great Resturant across the street. The public bathrooms and showers are closed and probably being replaced, it's porta potties only.
The beach was nice, a bit crowded but expected. The sand only goes a...

Can catch large sea turtles here - swimming, snorkeling is great here! It can get busy and hard to find parking so probably best to stay here and walk to beach.
