If you are into a longer hike go to the visitor info just up from the Cliff House and get them to show you on the map how you can hike Land's End and the Coastal Trail. This will take you all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. The last part is very intense, lots of steps so be... More

I walked a permanent volksmarch trail (Google it) that began at Seal Rock Inn and ran along the trail under the USS San Francisco memorial, along the coast all the way up to Lincoln Park and the Legion of Honor. I'd lived in the Bay Area for 39 years before moving to Germany for work. This was the first time... More

We walked the trail starting behind the Legion Of Honor Museum. The trail is an easy leisurely walk with incredible views of the GG Bridge & Pacific Ocean. There are many picture taking opportunities especially at the area of the USS San Francisco Memorial. A moving display that honors those men who fought a great battle in World War II.... More

One thing I like about San Francisco is that you can escape from the city to the country side in a short time. The Lands End trail is a scenic route suitable for all. Not much ups and downs and you can view the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge from different angle. You can walk up to the nearby... More

Definitely worth the trip to see some of the history of SF. The cliff house has several restaurants and a lounge area where you can have an appetizer and drink and watch the pelicans , surfers ad ships. You should also visit the visit the Camera Obscura which remains from the playland. There are hiking trails to the Sutro baths... More

Go to the visitor's center first so that you can orient yourself and get a trail map. Very nice trails and some incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean. Pick a sunny day to enjoy it to the fullest.

My daughter and I walked from Lands End to Sausalito, via the Golden Gate; about 14 miles and 5,000 stairs. We started at the Visitor's Center / Sutro Baths which were interesting and worth spending some time at. Use the washroom as we didn't see another one until the GG bridge. We meandered along the Coastal Trail, detouring to the... More

The paths alongside the cliffs of SF are just stunning. It's great that there are places like this right in the city.

Nice sea view from the top of the place - reception area. It exhibits a pictorial history of how the native indians lived and bathed here and how it was developed into a tourist attraction having comfortable hiking trails with interesting changing views as you trawl the trails.
