Cafe by the docks is great. Go on a sunday when the fort under the bridge is open to the public. It is 4 stories and you can see how the soldiers lived and worked. Nice pier and saw dolphins and seals.

Such a magical place to visit, relaxing and beautiful sightings, great to discover more about other cultures and the vegetation is lovely! A must.
We rode bikes that we hired at Golden Gate Park Bike and Skate in Fulton St. I think the bikes worked out to be $7.50 for 2 hours. There are shared paths with walkers throughout the park. We rode on a gentle downhill path to the beach then back again which was a bit harder as i'm not that fit....

beautiful park in the middle of the city, accessible by bus. Very interesting flower exhibition (guided tour) and quiet Japanese garden. Lunch opportunity at the De Young museum.
Just like Central Park in New York this is a fun oassis in the middle of the city. I chose a vacation rental in order to be close to the park. It is a great place to go to visit one of the attractions (museum and gardens) or just to go and take a relaxing walk.
The Botanic gardens are sprawling with sections for Japanese garden, flower garden, fields, forests, and much more. DeJoung museum had exhibit of Dutch paintings highlight was girl with gold eating. On sunny warm day can stroll and relax with few people around.
Awesome place to walk ! Everything is looking great in this place. You must go see the beach ! I would really appreciate a "Golden Gate Park Pass" that can let you visit everything because a lot of paying site to visit.
This is a fabulous park, open to everyone. Just a really great place to spend the day walking around.
Very nice for a walk, easily can spend half day in the park. Just should have more public restrooms and places to eat.
The park is very nice, we joined the Segway tour, this was fun and allowed us to see more of the park than we would have done normally. I would recommend that you either take a Segway tour or hire a bike to enable you to see more of the city and its parks from ground level
