we travelled the Asheville-Cherokee leg and it was very beautiful, many lookout points, a stunning sunset (can be seen only on miles 425-460) and a fun drive.

This is a beautiful drive by any standards. We went on a day which turned out to be cloudy, but we are 100% sure that this would be utterly spectacular in the autumn.

The drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway is simply one of the prettiest I have ever seen. I think any time of year would be beautiful, but, years ago at the height of the fall colors it was fantastic. A must do -- at least ten or twenty miles of it!

We have driven sections of the BRP before but never the whole thing. We started at Front Royal, VA and drove the Skyline Drive and the BRP to Ashville, NC. We skipped one of the most scenic parts from Ashville to Cherokee because we have driven that more than 5 times but don't miss that if you have not seen... More

The fall is a great time to visit. You can see the leaves changing colors and the weather is nice too. Beautiful scenery.

Miles and miles of beautiful scenery! Something not to be missed - even if you can only drive a chunk of the parkway. No disappointment here!

We drove the short west-bound stretch. Cool April morning, icicles coating the mountain sides and sun shining. Many well positioned pull-off places to view scenery and take photos.
