We thought that the actual building was quite impressive architecturally, and beautiful inside. Unfortunately, the bottom floor where the shops are was not heavily occupied. Perhaps that is why there were so few people wandering around, which is a shame. The few shops there were quite unique and interesting, albeit expensive. Our favorite was a furniture store with gorgeous hand... More

Did a hop off and back on from the Grayline Trolley, which drops you off right at the door. We ate at Carmel's and hit most of the craft and jewelry stores. Some are indeed higher end on the price scale, but we discovered some treasures we hadn't seen elsewhere that were moderately priced too.

An interesting place to walk around. Don't know where they got the name 'arcade' since it's just a fairly small indoor mall in a beautiful old building. But the stores are not run-of-the-mill. If you're in Asheville, it's worth a look-see.

We didn't visit all of the places in there, the place is big. We visited the Book Exchange and Champagne Bar that was in it. It was a pretty cool place. It has parking and is close to shopping and food.

Where we come from, "arcade" = video games. This is a mall not arcade. We discovered that just as they were closing though. :( Closes at 5pm on Sundays. The bathrooms say they are open till 6pm but they're not! The shops look fun though!

It"s nice to walk around the Grove Arcade. I have not given it 5 stars because many of the shops are outrageously expensive. Otherwise, I always enjoy myself there.

The Grove Arcade has a storied history and the building itself is beautiful. The shops are nothing special and many are vacant. It's worth a visit to see the building but little else of interest is there.

This block long three story turn of the prior century Asheville landmark is now a combination of apartments, offices and ground floor shops and dining establishments. We enjoyed a slow stroll through the shops on a quiet Sunday afternoon and found the selection of shops and merchandise eclectic but also with a strong regional influence. The restaurants and food shops... More

You are walking around downtown. You find yourself on the high end, where the Battery Hotel has been converted to condos. It towers above the downtown hill, looking out over the mountains. What's this low profile edifice across the street that looks like an old French subway? It's the Grove Arcade! Neato, duck in and you are in a fully... More
