The sign said it all. The Presley's bought their eleven year old son a guitar and gave millions the gift of music. I couldn't have said it better myself. From humble beginnings the world was provided a timeless story and gift.

Saw this as part of a day trip to tupelo covering all the sight in Tupelo linked with Elvis. The trip was run by CJC transportation tel 901 413 2062. The tour was amazing and I would highly recommend CJC transportation who ran the trip from Memphis. The birthplace itself is nice and peaceful and the house itself feels very... More

I am not really an Elvis fan, but my mom is. She wanted to go to Graceland, so we did a girl trip. tupelo was about a 1.5 hour drive from Memphis. I was expecting to see a one room house, but instead found a lovely park that had a lot of information to offer about Elvis's early years. There... More

OK I admit it, I only looked at the outside, but if you are willing to pay the fee, you can look at a museum and inside the birth home.

We visited as part of our road trip, we wanted to see where Elvis was born, we had already visited Gracelands, and had just came from G H Booth's the same morning and were in a great mood as everyone had been so friendly and happy to converse with us (we are from Scotland),not so here, we have visited loads... Seeing his birth place was educational and almost as good as Graceland. Plenty read, learn, visit his one room house build by his Father Vernon. His Chapel is on the site, automobile that the Presley's drove to Memphis (moved) Everything is in place to record his history of growing up

We were expecting something very tacky but it was done very tastefully and great to hear what a philanthropist Elvis was, buying his own house to give to the museum as the city wanted to burn it! The museum, film show, church and house provided a fascinating insight into Elvis's early life. One slight downer, the cafe was not open... More

We were driving from New Orleans to Nashville and decided to pop over a for a look see. I like Elvis. I don't worship him, but I certainly understand the iconic status. For me, the casual fan, it was all about seeing that tiny little house his dad built. The rest of it was interesting but little I didn't already... More

We were very happy to see the birth place of the King. The house is very small, and the two rooms have been set up really nicely. To stand there and imagine just what it was like for Elvis and his parents is amazing. The car park is great, the visitor centre is great, the gift shop is also great.... More
