We typically travel to the Cape during the warmer weather like most people, but we recently went to the Cape for a long weekend. With not much to do on the Cape in the winter, we searched for things to do with the kids and found some cool things happen here. One of the events was the Owl Prowl. Kids... More

Part of the National Seashore. Several nice trails near water allow many scenic views & opportunity to see birds. Not usually crowded if you walk over a half mile from parking.

I'm ashamed to say I have lived on the Cape for many years and hadn't been to the Sanctuary,it took visitors from out of town to get me there.wonderful views and birds with lots of interesting displays but the trails and views of the marshes and bay were awesome.Go check it out.

Not something you would expect. This is the quiet part of the cape and very nice for the entire family.

I never fail to be amazed at the numbers of people who visit places like this and spent their entire time walking quickly along and chatting loudly to their companions all the way. Maybe they aren't interested in the wildlife about them; maybe they really do want to scare away all the wildlife before anyone else can see it. I... More

I visited with my 86 year old mother and 2 other friends. They spent 90 minutes walking the trails and boardwalks out to the tidepools. Through the woodlands they saw many birds and on the water even a kingfisher! My mom and I stayed inside the center and sat at the viewing windows and watched the birds come to us... More

I probably shouldn't review this place because I don't want more people to come and ruin it, but I've been camping here every year with my family for more than 40 years. The camping has spoiled me so I can't camp anywhere else. The campsites are large, well spaced, and peaceful with the natural setting preserved, not carved up into... More

Had a good time camping here and hiking some of the trails. Lots to like about this sanctuary. The restrooms are clean and they even have showers! Most of the campsites are in a large grove of pine trees with very little underbrush. Great for camping

This was our favorite visit on a recent trip to the Cape. The "green" building itself is interesting, with fascinating exhibits and a nice store. But the best part, of course, is the sanctaury itself, which can be explored by about 5 miles of interpretive trails. The loop trail around Silver Spring pond is scenic, quiet and a good place...
