The High Line gets better and better the more NYC adds to it! It is a super park with lots of plantings and sculptures that delight the senses. Seeing the city from this vantage gives one a different view of Manhattan.

Looking for something out of the ordinary in the Big City? The High Line Park meanders above the West Side affording unusual views of the area. Food stands from local restaurants provide snacks and there are ample spots to stop and relax. Well worth a detour.
We had dinner at Abe & Arthur's and then strolled part of the High Line. It is beautifully landscaped and I liked that the rails were left intact. Gorgeous views!
While I love that the city rennovated this old above ground transit line, I don't get all the excitement. I found it to be disappointing, dare I say.....boring? Perhaps in the future there will be some more interesting landscaping or artwork installed. I just don't get all the hype.

Pretty cool to see the old rail lines from the meat packing district converted into a park. Something fun and unique to do if you are in the Chelsea area. They are still adding more lines to the park and the gardens are beautiful.
The High Line was a great escape from the city. It was very quiet, a great contrast to most of the city. You can take a nice leisurely walk through the garden up above the hustle and bustle. It's also the only place in Manhattan where people actually walk on the right side of the walkway so you don't run...

My wife talked us into going here; it was a beautiful clear morning, and we got there before the crowds got thick. The elevated walk offers good views of NYC, and local greenery is well-laid out and provides some relaxing walking. Highly recommended.
I'm a huge fan of the High Line, especially in the summer when restaurants offer food stands throughout the park. Walking the length of the High Line will provide you with lovely views of the West Side, and I love taking in the wildflowers and other flora that have been planted. The whole park is cleverly designed, and if you...
