I received friendly, helpful service and was in and out quickly. I picked a map and a suggestion and was on my way in less than 5 minutes.
The renovated Visitor Information Center looks more like an Apple Store than a government office. They have 3 large touch screen table tops that implore Google Maps to show you what attractions, restaurants, and cultural sites are where. Using a coaster you can load all of this information on to a giant fly-over screen or have printed with valuable coupons... More
If you are in Times Square, this is a great place to pick up information brochures. It also has public bathrooms (without a wait, the two times we popped in), which is a huge feature in NYC! We didn't spend too much time looking at the historical displays, but we did enjoy writing our New Year's wishes on confetti. It... More
We visited here several times, got lots of leaflets and even discovered one of the best attractions here, well enjoyable is probably a better description. Free Internet service and friendly helpful staff.
I went to the visitor center to get some info and help. The guy that helped me seemed to be bored with his job and the answers i got were merely ok. I don't feel I got all the info I wanted, but I found it in other ways...
Excellent advice with great offer on broadway shows, discount vouchers for shopping and internet access if you need to find something in particular. Ideal place to find maps of all areas of new york for everything you could need.
The staff and resources are great here. You can even get your Metro card fortune subway here. Staff were upper about booking and printing out receipts etc here. For eg got a same day booking for 9/11 memorial here with no hassle. Great if your accomodation lacks printing facilities. Lots of vouchers if you look round too.
We highly recommend stopping by the visitors center at 53rd street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan. They have multi-lingual staff on hand to answer your queries, sell you tickets to attractions, museums etc... and provide you with general information. While we did not need the foreign language assistance, we were truly impressed by the knowledgeable staff which were available to... More
This was recommended to us by good friends. On arrival we were met by Sam, the manager. He was awesome. He gave us hints for a few days and told us to return after that, which we did. On our second visit he was even more helpul. Visit the center before you do anything else.
Highly recommended as a place to start your visit. Sam was an enthusiastic expert on all aspects of NYC, from subway info to museum tickets to best pizza. We wanted to kidnap him as our personal tour guide! He really helped us out and gave us personal, undivided attention. I even called the next day for a restaurant recommendation near... More
